Wilson Mangueira kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Bernardinho Trigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th minute, Erik Gomes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chico de Barros was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Edu Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson Mangueira in the 29th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Jeremias de Queiroz had to leave the field with a concussion. Erik Gomes charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erik Gomes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 33rd match minute, GPORT F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Gomes to maneuver through the defense. GPORT F.C's Edu Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dito Mendonça in the 37th minute of play. Dito Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Edu Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. GPORT F.C's Edu Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dito Mendonça in the 41st minute of play. Hermínio Vidal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dito Mendonça made a kick off. GPORT F.C's Dedé Meira got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Bernardinho Trigo came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the GPORT F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardinho Trigo couldn't finish the play. Dito Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu Santana having to interfere. Dito Mendonças short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Edu Santana to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 61 minutes into the game, Hermínio Vidal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Steel Fox's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GPORT F.C the free kick. Dito Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Edu Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute Bernardinho Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico de Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, GPORT F.C's Edu Santana got control of the ball when Dito Mendonça tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edu Santana was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cacá Montenegro. In the 71st minute, Wilson Mangueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dito Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Edu Santana made a huge save.
