Osvaldo Mandrak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Basílio Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Robinho Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alvenápolis F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Robinho Fontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basílio Toscano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 15 minutes, João Pedro Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. São Paulo Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Pedro Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Tostão Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to São Paulo Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Oscar Queirós hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Pedro Seco during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 26 played minutes São Paulo Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by João Pedro Seco. Robinho Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Toscano having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robinho Fontes in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basílio Toscano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cícero Batista charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cícero Batista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 37 played minutes Alvenápolis F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Cícero Batista. Tostão Queirós's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Basílio Toscano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Robinho Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 67 played minutes São Paulo Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Samuca Oliveira. When Tostão Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alvenápolis F.C.'s protests and gave Tostão Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. Tostão Queirós hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. João Pedro Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Fernando de Salles made a huge save. Alvenápolis F.C.'s Fernando de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Maranhense in the 76th minute of play. Alvenápolis F.C.'s Renan Furlan got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Alvenápolis F.C.'s Fernando de Salles got control of the ball when João Pedro Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alvenápolis F.C.'s Robinho Fontes suffered a sore thigh after 93 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Ronaldão Amaral fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored São Paulo Futebol Clube's protests and gave Ronaldão Amaral a yellow card for diving instead. Alvenápolis F.C. were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
