The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Walmir Cardoso charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walmir Cardoso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Antas SC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Sílvio Luiz Santana hit a great ball. When Xarqueda's Sílvio Luís Corrêa in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Antas SC's goalie prevented a goal. Michel Bueno hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Lenílson Cordeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Luís Corrêa in the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st match minute, Antas SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Barros to maneuver through the defense. Sílvio Luiz Santana hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute, Víktor Alcântara sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Antas SC's Lenílson Cordeiro didn't even have to move. In the 29thth minute of the game Ciro Cardoso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Antas SC's Lenílson Cordeiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Michel Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Antas SC's Michel Bueno got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sílvio Luiz Santana struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Kaká Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Antas SC. In the 43rd minute, Ciro Cardoso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Xarqueda fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After the first half Xarqueda were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Michel Bueno was the one to do the kick off. Antas SC were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Xarqueda's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mazinho Brito took the corner. In the 62nd minute Sílvio Luís Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lenílson Cordeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michel Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Kaká Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vítor Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Michel Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Gomes having to interfere. If Michel Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michel Bueno in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kaká Gomes saved Xarqueda from getting behind. 88 minutes into the game, Joélson Pereira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Antas SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Xarqueda the free kick. After 89 played minutes Antas SC got a freekick which was hit by Joélson Pereira. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Sílvio Luís Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xarqueda's supporters rose to their feet, but Sílvio Luís Corrêa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lenílson Cordeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
