A very good chance. 18 minutes into the match, Xarqueda's goalkeeper Kaká Gomes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osmar Lira. Kaká Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kléberson Gomes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Kléberson Gomes fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 29 minutes into the match, Sílvio Luís Corrêa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jean Sergipano. Time do Povo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sílvio Luís Corrêa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 35 played minutes Xarqueda got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Velasco. In the 36th minute, Genílson Tande sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Xarqueda's Kaká Gomes didn't even have to move. Kaká Gomes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kléberson Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

After a rather tough play, Xarqueda's Válter Carneiro got a free kick in the 51st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caco Fontes during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Xarqueda booed when Time do Povo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caco Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciro Cardoso got free with Jean Sergipano in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Time do Povo's Cássio Lopes got a free kick in the 55th minute. Sílvio Luís Corrêa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 60 minutes into the match, Xarqueda's Evandro Eger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jean Sergipano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciro Cardoso got free with Jean Sergipano in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Time do Povo's Jean Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luís Corrêa in the 63rd minute of play. After 72 minutes of play, Xarqueda's Sílvio Luís Corrêa made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jean Sergipano was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 76th minute Osmar Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaká Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kléberson Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute Sílvio Luís Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jean Sergipano made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Ciro Cardoso sent off a good shot on target. Sílvio Luís Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Jean Sergipano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th match minute, Time do Povo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Gaspar to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 92 minutes, Ciro Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Xarqueda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciro Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Xarqueda played a much better game than Time do Povo and deserved their victory. The Time do Povo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
