Araguaina Fc's Narciso Soares couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 16th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SAJianos FC. The audience was convinced that Severino de Salles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amauri de Queirós was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. In the 23rd minute, Nuno Berger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of SAJianos FC booed when Araguaina Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias Falcão didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Severino de Salles to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in SAJianos FC's zone, Júlio Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gernando Saldanha came out of the goal and Júlio Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gernando Saldanha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mathias Falcão's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Murilo Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gernando Saldanha having to interfere. When Murilo Xavier came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Araguaina Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Murilo Xavier couldn't finish the play. In the 72nd minute, Murilo Xavier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Araguaina Fc's goalkeeper Amauri de Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orlando Miranda. Murilo Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gernando Saldanha having to interfere. Mathias Falcão spun around in front of the goal 97 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of SAJianos FC's goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Araguaina Fc had played much better football throughout.
