Gilmar Barreto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilmar Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Renatinho Moura made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Yan Arruda sent off a good shot on target. If Yan Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Lauro Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Padilha defense, Gilmar Barreto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Renatinho Moura. The Padilha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Renatinho Moura should have stopped the shot. In the 31st minute, Fábio Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Osmar de Godoi came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Padilha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osmar de Godoi couldn't finish the play. After 46 played minutes, Padilha's Alfredinho de Moraes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hernani Freire came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Padilha reached it. Lauro Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lauro Coelho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Padilha booed when Olaria A.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Osmar de Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Freire having to interfere. David Trancoso fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 62nd minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. A collision led to Padilha getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Sebastião Cosme hit a great ball. A collision led to Olaria A.C. getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Cássio da Cunha hit a great ball. Renatinho Moura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yan Arruda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Yan Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olaria A.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Yan Arruda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renatinho Moura breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hernani Freire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lauro Coelho in the 93rd minute of play. If Osmar de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
