Ademar Luz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eusébio Couto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute Luiz Gustavo Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusébio Couto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vila regina's Luiz Gustavo Alagoano got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luizão de Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jardel Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. Luizão de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jardel Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 80 minutes into the match, Ademar Luz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eusébio Couto, 0-1. During the 87th minute of the match Kauan Fantini completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Kauan Fantini a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 88 played minutes Vila regina got a freekick which was hit by Kauan Fantini. Luizão de Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jardel Eger in the 89th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Vila regina eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
