In the 30th minute, Base Esporte Clube's Dorian Paulista seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dorian Paulista the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Base Esporte Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dorian Paulista had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 29 minutes into the game, one of Base Esporte Clube:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jacinto Trevisan did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Luizão de Sousa 36 minutes into the match. If Jacinto Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Narciso Linhares might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luizão de Sousa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Narciso Linhares ran back to his position shaking his head. Ademar Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Vila regina were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
