Serginho Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Arósio, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciro Arósio in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serginho Figueiredo saved Shakazulu F.C from getting behind. 19 minutes into the match, Ciro Arósio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Serginho Figueiredo. Shakazulu F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciro Arósio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almir Domingues in the 23rd minute of play forced Shakazulu F.C's goalkeeper Serginho Figueiredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Aníbal Prata fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shakazulu F.C's protests and gave Aníbal Prata a yellow card for diving instead. After the first half Atenas Itaim Pta ZL SP were leading 2-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nando Castro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Tony Mendes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Serginho Figueiredo. Tony Mendes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-5. Aníbal Prata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Shakazulu F.C's Serginho Figueiredo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Shakazulu F.C from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Shakazulu F.C's Serginho Figueiredo got control of the ball when Ciro Arósio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Atenas Itaim Pta ZL SP played a much better game than Shakazulu F.C and deserved their victory. The Shakazulu F.C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
