Luizão de Sousa came out of the goal and Almir Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 14 minutes into the game, Kauan Fantini was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vila regina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atenas Itaim Pta ZL SP the free kick. In the 14th match minute, Vila regina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kauan Fantini to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Atenas Itaim Pta ZL SP's Fiori da Mata got control of the ball when Luiz Gustavo Alagoano tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Paulo Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Paulo Meira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luizão de Sousa was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Luiz Gustavo Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fiori da Mata having to interfere. Fiori da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ademar Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
