The supporters of Cibauma booed when Cristais Paulista F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilmar Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Nando Vinhas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cibauma's Denílson Almeida quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Carlos Augusto Medeiros, made in the 66th minute of the game. Emerson Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Toledo having to interfere. If Edgar Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the game, Váldson Guedes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cristais Paulista F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cibauma the free kick.
