Sandro Barros was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 17 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the game, one of Dedos Futebol Clube:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When UsGuri's Dito Moreira in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dedos Futebol Clube's goalie prevented a goal. Baltazar Arantes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Romeu Pernambucano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 25 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Abelardo da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dedos Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Abelardo da Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristian Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. UsGuri's Fabiano Terra shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 32nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Baltazar Arantes but with some difficulty. Baltazar Arantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dito Moreira in the 33rd minute of play. Dito Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Arantes having to interfere. Ernani Sergipano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Arantes having to interfere. Dito Moreira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baltazar Arantes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Evandro Matorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baltazar Arantes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dito Moreira in the 44th minute. UsGuri's Artur Cosme got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abelardo da Costa made a kick off. Renatinho Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 54 minutes into the match, Dito Moreira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Baltazar Arantes. Dedos Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dito Moreira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. If Dito Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Dito Moreira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baltazar Arantes was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. When Gilson Massa fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dedos Futebol Clube's protests and gave Gilson Massa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th minute, Gilson Massa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 67 minutes, Abelardo da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dedos Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abelardo da Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baltazar Arantes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dito Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dito Moreira might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Baltazar Arantes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dito Moreira ran back to his position shaking his head. Baltazar Arantes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renatinho Domingues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 89 minutes, Dito Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After a rather tough play, Dedos Futebol Clube's Gilson Massa got a free kick in the 90th minute. If Dito Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. In the 96thth minute of the game Dito Moreira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dedos Futebol Clube's Baltazar Arantes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. There was no doubt that UsGuri were the better team. UsGuri's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
