The referee showed Chiquinho Tavares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Posses's Chiquinho Tavares got a free kick in the 6th minute. Posses's Hílton Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wellington Macedo in the 7th minute of play. Delfim Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Hílton Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 13 played minutes Theophilus SC got a freekick which was hit by Gerson de Lima. 16 minutes into the match, Posses's Luís de Mendonça sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arí Fontes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arí Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís de Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After a rather tough play, Theophilus SC's Giuseppe Quirino got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After 22 played minutes, Posses's Benedito Capixaba shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arí Fontes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Posses reached it. Reginaldo Esteves hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Arí Fontes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Posses's Luís de Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling William Prestes in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arí Fontes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Delfim Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Hílton Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hílton Prestes was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Wellington Macedo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Wellington Macedo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when William Prestes made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Macedo in the 53rd minute of play forced Posses's goalkeeper Hílton Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hílton Prestes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delfim Abreu in the 55th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Theophilus SC's goalkeeper Arí Fontes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís de Mendonça. 60 minutes into the game, Delfim Abreu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Hílton Prestes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 69th minute, Wellington Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
