Oswaldo de Salles was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wellington Macedo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. Theophilus SC's Arí Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Berger in the 8th minute of play. Bernardinho Vasconcelos charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernardinho Vasconcelos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bernardinho Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Delfim Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo de Salles having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Dorival Paiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Claudinei Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Arí Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Giuseppe Quirino hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 27thth minute of the game Wellington Macedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Baiaozinho's Oswaldo de Salles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 28th minute Dorival Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arí Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dorival Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Arí Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arí Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Claudinei Berger might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arí Fontes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudinei Berger ran back to his position shaking his head. Wellington Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the game, Eusébio de Lima was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Baiaozinho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Theophilus SC the free kick. Eusébio de Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. If Wellington Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Claudinei Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 44 minutes, Claudinei Berger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Baiaozinho and the Theophilus SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 44 played minutes Baiaozinho got a freekick which was hit by Claudinei Berger. Arí Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Paiva in the 48th minute of play.

Delfim Abreu struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Oswaldo de Salles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Theophilus SC. The audience was convinced that Delfim Abreu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oswaldo de Salles was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. In the 55th minute, Afonso Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Claudinei Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. Theophilus SC's Arí Fontes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Theophilus SC from getting a goal against them. If Eusébio de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the match, Theophilus SC's goalkeeper Arí Fontes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorival Paiva. Dorival Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dorival Paiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arí Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Paiva in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Theophilus SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Baiaozinho had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
