The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Dedos Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Adilson Aparecido hit a great ball. Abelardo Senna came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Dedos Futebol Clube's Evandro Matorin. But to his dismay, Evandro Matorin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind SE Saúva's goalkeeper Abelardo Senna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Abelardo da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Abelardo Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Gilson Massa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dedos Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SE Saúva the free kick. If Abelardo da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Senna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Evandro Matorin went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Evandro Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Dedos Futebol Clube were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Gustavo Guimarães to strike the kick off in the second half. Iker Eron's late challenge caught a Dedos Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iker Eron helped the player get up and apologised. In the 53rd minute, Iker Eron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Evandro Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the game, Murilo Cavalcante was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After 59 played minutes Dedos Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Gilson Massa. Abelardo Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evandro Matorin in the 62nd minute of play. Abelardo da Costa came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Abelardo Senna could save by the left post. A collision led to Dedos Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Sandro Barros hit a great ball. When Evandro Matorin came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Dedos Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evandro Matorin couldn't finish the play. In the 70th match minute, SE Saúva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murilo Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. After 74 minutes of play, SE Saúva's Luís Gustavo Guimarães made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Baltazar Arantes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Abelardo da Costa succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-5 in the 92nd playminute. In the 94th match minute, Dedos Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abelardo da Costa to maneuver through the defense. The Dedos Futebol Clube supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Dedos Futebol Clube would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
