Ademir Vergílio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Umberto de Mendonça came out and tried to block the shot, but Ademir Vergílio slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 17th minute. Alfredo Neiva hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Umberto de Mendonça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ademir Vergílio's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 30th minute Alfredo Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Paraibano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Neiva in the 37th minute of play forced Andercta FC's goalkeeper Emílio Paraibano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Geovanni Torres ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emílio Paraibano was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Emílio Paraibano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Seco in the 47th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Jacata EC's zone, Ademir Vergílio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Umberto de Mendonça came out of the goal and Ademir Vergílio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ademir Vergílio made a kick off. Umberto de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ademir Vergílio, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Sílvio Luís Fernandez hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. The supporters of Andercta FC booed when Jacata EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Jacata EC's goal looked a bit too open when Ademir Vergílio came free, but Umberto de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Jacata EC's zone, Ademir Vergílio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Umberto de Mendonça came out of the goal and Ademir Vergílio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andercta FC were furious when Frederico Pinheiro was red carded, 63 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Andercta FC! Umberto de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademir Vergílio in the 68th minute of the match. Ademir Vergílio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Umberto de Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Umberto de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute of the match Kléber Paranaense shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Umberto de Mendonça showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Andercta FC's goalkeeper Emílio Paraibano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Emílio Paraibano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidnei do Vale in the 86th minute. Ademir Vergílio scored 4-4 in the 100th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Umberto de Mendonça, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Andercta FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
