Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Muleque de Vila's Sandrinho Rocha started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nelson Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandrinho Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wellington Prado's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cícero Pirani firmly grabbed it by the left post. Nelson Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandrinho Rocha's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Muleque de Vila's Sandrinho Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sandrinho Rocha in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nelson Costa saved Canoa SS from getting behind. Nelson Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandrinho Rocha in the 26th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Canoa SS's Waldir de Carvalho got a free kick in the 27th minute. After 29 minutes of play, Muleque de Vila's Sandrinho Rocha made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nelson Costa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Waldir de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Pirani having to interfere. The supporters of Canoa SS booed when Muleque de Vila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After taking down the ball on Canoa SS's corner Marco Cavalcante fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cícero Pirani quite easily take care of the ball. Luiz Paulo Meirelles took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cícero Pirani. Muleque de Vila's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Wellington Prado struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Cícero Pirani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canoa SS. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gernando Tavares made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Muleque de Vila's João Vítor Barral got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Gernando Tavares kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Denílson Diniz charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Denílson Diniz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Canoa SS's goalkeeper Nelson Costa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 64th minute, Waldir de Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Waldir de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Canoa SS's Leonardo Araújo got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Walmir de Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Sandrinho Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 79 minutes, Walmir de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Muleque de Vila's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmir de Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Walmir de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Walmir de Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Muleque de Vila fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmir de Alcântara couldn't finish the play. Muleque de Vila's Sandrinho Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wellington Prado struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Cícero Pirani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canoa SS. Muleque de Vila were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
