OFF's Tostão Ramalho got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 31 minutes, Claudinho Pereira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fluviopolis and the OFF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 31 played minutes Fluviopolis got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Pereira. In the 34th minute, Jairo Torres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Fluviopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Nildo Pereira came free, but Túlio Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 43 minutes, Nildo Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. OFF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nildo Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Róbson Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The referee showed Jairo Torres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Róbson Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fluviopolis's supporters rose to their feet, but Róbson Teles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
