In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clube de Campo's goalkeeper Ademar Sarmento, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Clube de Campo getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Richard Guerra hit a great ball. Bruno Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Nelson Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Canoa SS booed when Clube de Campo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Wellington Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Sena to make the kick off. Nelson Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Sena in the 55th minute of play. After 62 played minutes Canoa SS got a freekick which was hit by Waldir de Carvalho. When Silvério Cearense came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Clube de Campo fans jumped to their feet. Eurico França kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, Canoa SS's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Sena came free, but Nelson Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 86 minutes, Bruno Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube de Campo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruno Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bruno Sena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nelson Costa having to make a save. Luiz Gustavo Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Costa having to interfere. Bruno Sena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
