After 16 played minutes Muleque de Vila got a freekick which was hit by Elivélton Linhares. Túlio Pena made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Walmir de Alcântara sent off a good shot on target. Cícero Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbson Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jairo Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sandrinho Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Túlio Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Muleque de Vila's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fluviopolis the free kick. A collision led to Muleque de Vila getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Elivélton Linhares hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sandrinho Rocha made a kick off. Cícero Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Fernando Moreira hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Walmir de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sandrinho Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Túlio Pena having to interfere. After 75 played minutes Muleque de Vila got a freekick which was hit by Walmir de Alcântara. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Muleque de Vila! When the match had been going on for 78 minutes, Fluviopolis's Claudinho Pereira got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Cícero Pirani. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmir de Alcântara in the 83rd minute of play forced Fluviopolis's goalkeeper Túlio Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Róbson Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Pirani having to interfere. In the 89th minute of the game, Sandrinho Rocha landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 89 minutes into the game, Luís Fernando Moreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fluviopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Muleque de Vila the free kick. In the 90th match minute, Fluviopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fernando Moreira to maneuver through the defense. 92 minutes into the match, Fluviopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Amauri Castro came free, but Túlio Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Róbson Teles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Róbson Teles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Cícero Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Fluviopolis supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fluviopolis would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
