Anderson Fontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When Açorianos rs's Vicente Sergipano in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lesbian Team's goalie prevented a goal. If Jânio Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Jânio Quirino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Açorianos rs fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Vidal in the 33rd minute of play forced Açorianos rs's goalkeeper Anderson Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jânio Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Horácio Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Hamílton Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jânio Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Açorianos rs booed when Lesbian Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilson de Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vicente Sergipano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Horácio Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jânio Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Jacinto Prestes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 58 minutes into the match, Açorianos rs's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Prestes came free, but Anderson Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anderson Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Prestes, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. When Reginaldo Brodel fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lesbian Team's protests and gave Reginaldo Brodel a yellow card for diving instead. Reginaldo Brodel hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute, Hamílton Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Açorianos rs's Falcão Britto tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Lesbian Team's Reginaldo Brodel got a free kick in the 66th minute. If Jânio Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Narciso Vidal fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Anderson Fontes, passed just outside the right post. Lesbian Team's Narciso Vidal got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 3-1 became the score in the 75th minute when Jânio Quirino elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 82 played minutes, Lesbian Team's Edmílson Vasconcelos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anderson Fontes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lesbian Team reached it. If Jânio Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jânio Quirino struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Horácio Recife didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Açorianos rs. Lesbian Team's Jacinto Prestes got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Açorianos rs's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
