In the 27th minute, Zé Paulo Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Pombal FC's Remo Garcia got a free kick in the 30th minute. With a little luck, Pombal FC's Josué Teixeira got control of the ball when Eugênio Arruda tried to sneak it across the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Armando Andrade recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Josué Teixeira. Armando Andrade showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Andrade in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Josué Teixeira saved Pombal FC from getting behind. When Nilson de Amaral fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored G3nerationX's protests and gave Nilson de Amaral a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Eugênio Arruda kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Josué Teixeira. That made the score 2-0 in the 46 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eugênio Arruda made a kick off. If Edgard Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Pombal FC's zone, Dé Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josué Teixeira came out of the goal and Dé Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Armando Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Josué Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Remo Garcia got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Zé Paulo Sá might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Josué Teixeira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Paulo Sá ran back to his position shaking his head. Eugênio Arruda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 74 minutes, Armando Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. G3nerationX's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armando Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Armando Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo Sá in the 77th minute of play forced Pombal FC's goalkeeper Josué Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 79 minutes, Edgard Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. G3nerationX's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Armando Andrade struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Josué Teixeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for G3nerationX. Josué Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Andrade in the 82nd minute of the match. A collision led to G3nerationX getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Armando Andrade hit a great ball. If Armando Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute.
