The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th minute Jânio Quirino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elivélton de Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Lombas FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Arnaldo Salgado hit a great ball. If Jânio Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th minute, Rodriguinho Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vicente Sergipano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elivélton de Barros having to interfere. After some careless play in the Lombas FC defense, Jânio Quirino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elivélton de Barros. The Lombas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elivélton de Barros should have stopped the shot. Jânio Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Elivélton de Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Vicente Sergipano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elivélton de Barros. Lombas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vicente Sergipano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. If Kaká Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Açorianos rs's goal looked a bit too open when Kaká Marquez came free, but Anderson Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute Vicente Sergipano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elivélton de Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 49th minute, Vicente Sergipano made a precise shot to the right of Elivélton de Barros. Lombas FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vicente Sergipano to strike the kick off in the second half. Kaká Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anderson Fontes having to interfere. When Lombas FC's Pedro Luís Coelho in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Elivélton de Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Sergipano in the 71st minute of the match. Elivélton de Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Sergipano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84thth minute of the game Vicente Sergipano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lombas FC's Elivélton de Barros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Açorianos rs's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luís Coelho came free, but Anderson Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the game, Evandro Maciel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. When Pedro Luís Coelho came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Lombas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Luís Coelho couldn't finish the play. Açorianos rs's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
