Mauro Ferreira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gadelha SS's Mauro Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermelando Yorgos in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute of the match City FOZ got a corner. Gadelha SS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hermelando Yorgos ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Rafael Leão sped through Gadelha SS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mauro Ferreira. In the 23rdth minute of the game Ronaldão Torres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gadelha SS's Mauro Ferreira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Gadelha SS defense, Rafael Leão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mauro Ferreira. The Gadelha SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mauro Ferreira should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-8 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafael Leão was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicasio Ruisko got free with Mauro Ferreira in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
