After 26 minutes of play, Campeche FC's Paulo Paiva made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardinho de Sousa was left in no man's land by his defense there! 29 minutes into the game, Campeche FC's Jaime Pinho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Campeche FC's Erasmo Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Mello in the 37th minute of play. When Edinho Lira came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Campeche FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edinho Lira couldn't finish the play. Edinho Lira took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardinho de Sousa. Ricardinho de Sousa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. 47 minutes into the match, Aloísio Goiano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Erasmo Rodrigues, 3-4. After the first half Campeche FC were leading 3-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aloísio Goiano in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erasmo Rodrigues saved Campeche FC from getting behind.
