The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The audience was convinced that Washington Recife's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilton de Mendonça was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. In the 56th minute, Murillo Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Rafa de Castro came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the CRAC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafa de Castro couldn't finish the play. CR Atlétas de Cristo's Luan Eger got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of CRAC booed when CR Atlétas de Cristo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Germano Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in CR Atlétas de Cristo's zone, Washington Recife stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilton de Mendonça came out of the goal and Washington Recife tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
