Kiko Saldanha ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 14th minute Leonardo Donato shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonardo Donatos short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got André Rezende to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonardo Donato in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Rezende prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Kiko Saldanha came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Jijoca SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kiko Saldanha couldn't finish the play. Kiko Saldanha was extremely unlucky when he, in the 24th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Leonardo Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Edgar Dubilas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edgar Dubilass short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got André Rezende to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. André Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kiko Saldanha in the 28th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 30 minutes into the game, when Eriberto Aguiar put in a rough tackle. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 35 minutes into the match, Ramalho's goalkeeper André Rezende had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonardo Donato. After a defensive mix-up in Ramalho's zone, Leonardo Donato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Rezende came out of the goal and Leonardo Donato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgar Dubilas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. André Rezende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jijoca SC's Edgar Dubilas got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonardo Donato to make the kick off. Amadeu Oliveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Szymon Prusinowski made a huge save. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by Jijoca SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kaká Maia was slow to take the kick. During this time Ramalho's players had a chance to rest. Roberto Mattos kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Dubilas in the 61st minute of play forced Ramalho's goalkeeper André Rezende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Edgar Dubilas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jijoca SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Dubilas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Rezende breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Jijoca SC fully deserved thier win.
