In the 7th minute Diego Bastos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciro Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ciro Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton Recife in the 15th minute of play. Osmar Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nilton Recife in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciro Nogueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vicente Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The attack was good, but when Márcio Galvão in the 32nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 34th minute, Diego Bastos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Merson Concursos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Bastos came free, but Ciro Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Nilton Recife made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Merson Concursos FC got a freekick which was hit by Dé Arósio. In the 62ndth minute of the game Nilton Recife who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Merson Concursos FC's Ciro Nogueira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 64th minute, Jeferson de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atlético Alagoano's Cristiano Britto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Baptista in the 65th minute of play. Márcio Galvão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristiano Britto came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Merson Concursos FC's Márcio Galvão. But to his dismay, Márcio Galvão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Ciro Nogueira made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Diego Bastos sent off a good shot on target. Diego Bastos struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Ciro Nogueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Alagoano. After 86 minutes, Nico Tasso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merson Concursos FC and the Atlético Alagoano players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 86th match minute, Merson Concursos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Tasso to maneuver through the defense. When Diego Bastos came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Atlético Alagoano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Bastos couldn't finish the play. Diego Bastos in the 96thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ciro Nogueira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
