Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Luiz Fernando Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Rezende having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Fernando Meira in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Rezende prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 43 minutes, Roberto Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ramalho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roberto Mattos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luiz Fernando Meira scored 1-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of André Rezende, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
