Mulambo's Amadeu Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilton Recife in the 4th minute of play. After 9 minutes of play, Mulambo's Cristiano Sena made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristiano Britto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Atlético Alagoano's Nilton Recife got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Reinaldo Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Cristiano Britto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Cristiano Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Alagoano's zone, Reinaldo Ortiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristiano Britto came out of the goal and Reinaldo Ortiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rdth minute of the game Cristiano Sena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Alagoano's Cristiano Britto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristiano Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Cristiano Britto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristiano Senas short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Cristiano Britto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpected shot in the 41st minute by Cristiano Sena got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nilton Recife stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Nilton Recife's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amadeu Magalhães was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Cristiano Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mulambo's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristiano Britto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reinaldo Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Britto having to interfere. Cristiano Britto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinaldo Ortiz in the 80th minute of play. The Mulambo fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Mulambo's Reinaldo Ortiz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 90 played minutes Mulambo got a freekick which was hit by Gernando Soeiro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinaldo Ortiz in the 95th minute of play forced Atlético Alagoano's goalkeeper Cristiano Britto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reinaldo Ortiz in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristiano Britto saved Atlético Alagoano from getting behind. Mulambo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
