After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Diego Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Alagoano's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Bastos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Rezende breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Ramalho getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Ivo Cruz hit a great ball. Hélio Alcântara's late challenge caught a Ramalho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee gave Yan Capixaba a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Ramalho's André Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Bastos in the 57th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nilton Recife in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg André Rezende saved Ramalho from getting behind. Hudson Prata came free with the goalkeeper in the 71st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cristiano Britto could save by the left post. Hudson Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Britto having to interfere. André Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton Recife in the 78th minute of play. Hudson Pratas short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Cristiano Britto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Roberto Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Diego Bastos came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Atlético Alagoano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Bastos couldn't finish the play. Ramalho's Amadeu Oliveira got his second yellow card of the match in the 86th minute. The referee ordered Amadeu Oliveira off the ground. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
