With a left leg Filipe Salgado saved Iturama F.C. from getting behind. The Linhares FC fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Linhares FC's Oswaldo Sena looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Eduardo Guerra in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Toninho Barros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Geraldo Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Salgado having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Nuno Leão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filipe Salgado was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Nuno Leão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Filipe Salgado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geraldo Braga's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. The supporters of Linhares FC booed when Iturama F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Iturama F.C.'s zone, Oswaldo Sena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filipe Salgado came out of the goal and Oswaldo Sena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nuno Leão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Filipe Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The audience was convinced that Geraldo Braga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Filipe Salgado was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Iturama F.C.'s Filipe Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Braga in the 88th minute of play. Filipe Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oswaldo Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 92nd match minute, Iturama F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. The Iturama F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Linhares FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
