Tupi's Luciano Cruz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Tupi from getting a goal against them. 69 minutes into the match, Tupi's goal looked a bit too open when Oswaldo Sena came free, but Luciano Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Tupi's Edgar Hermes got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 73rd minute, Donato Baiano fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Luciano Cruz, passed just outside the right post. Luciano Cruz made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Donato Baiano sent off a good shot on target. After 77 played minutes Tupi got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Hermes. Oswaldo Sena might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luciano Cruz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oswaldo Sena ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Tupi's Luciano Cruz got control of the ball when Donato Baiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Luciano Cruz managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when Linhares FC's Donato Baiano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Benjamin Medeiros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luciano Cruz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play.
