Filipe Salgado came out of the goal and Vânderson Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iuri Mello in the 16th minute of play forced Iturama F.C.'s goalkeeper Filipe Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tapejara's Egídio Braga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Tapejara from getting a goal against them. 26 minutes into the match, Iturama F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Iuri Mello came free, but Filipe Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Eduardo Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Iturama F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Vânderson Andrade came free, but Filipe Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 38 minutes, Vânderson Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tapejara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vânderson Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Filipe Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iuri Mello in the 39th minute of play. If Iuri Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tapejara's goalkeeper Egídio Braga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Egídio Braga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jean Silva in the 46th minute. Teodoro Guimarães's late challenge caught a Tapejara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teodoro Guimarães helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Tapejara booed when Iturama F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Eduardo Guerra was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Iuri Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tapejara's supporters rose to their feet, but Iuri Mello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filipe Salgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Iuri Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vânderson Andrade might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filipe Salgado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vânderson Andrade ran back to his position shaking his head. Vânderson Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Salgado having to interfere. Vânderson Andrade struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Filipe Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tapejara. Vânderson Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute, Iuri Mello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vânderson Andrades short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Filipe Salgado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Vânderson Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
