Jaime de Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Campidelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Phoenix FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Cesinha Mazza hit a great ball. Júlio Custódio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute, Alfredinho Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaime de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruy Paranaense, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Ah!Negão FC's Ruy Paranaense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jaime de Sousa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 34 played minutes Ah!Negão FC got a freekick which was hit by Alfredinho Carvalho. Filipe Rezende was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 36th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Paulo José Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Custódio, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Cipriano Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio Custódio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José Ferreira having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Paulo José Ferreira came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Phoenix FC's Júlio Custódio. But to his dismay, Júlio Custódio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Júlio Custódio in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo José Ferreira saved Ah!Negão FC from getting behind. After having played for 56 minutes, Yan de Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phoenix FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yan de Moraes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Ah!Negão FC defense, Júlio Custódio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo José Ferreira. The Ah!Negão FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo José Ferreira should have stopped the shot. If Júlio Custódio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio Custódio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jaime de Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ruy Paranaense in the 79th minute. With a little luck, Phoenix FC's Jaime de Sousa got control of the ball when Ruy Paranaense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Júlio Custódio in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo José Ferreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Umberto da Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Umberto da Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Phoenix FC booed when Ah!Negão FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Umberto da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Simão Mello kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. In the 97th minute, Filipe Rezende sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ah!Negão FC's Paulo José Ferreira didn't even have to move. There was no doubt that Phoenix FC were the better team. Phoenix FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
