Zé Pedro Rodrigues came out of the goal and David Massa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 25 minutes, Olavo Paulista mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Universo Isca SC and the S.E.Palmeiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Universo Isca SC's Olavo Paulista got a free kick in the 25th minute. David Massa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Fellipe Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedrinho Simões hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Universo Isca SC were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after S.E.Palmeiras's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Valério Sergipano took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Rui da Fonseca heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Fabrício Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro Abreu having to interfere. After 48 played minutes Fabrício Paulista rounded S.E.Palmeiras's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Massa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lauro Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrício Paulista in the 57th minute of the match. In the 61stth minute of the game Fabrício Paulista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.E.Palmeiras's Lauro Abreu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zé Pedro Rodrigues made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fellipe Vidal in the 62nd minute. Fellipe Vidal might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Pedro Rodrigues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fellipe Vidal ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 67th minute David Massa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Pedro Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedrinho Simões's late challenge caught a Universo Isca SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
