After a rather tough play, Corte FC's Arnaldo Braga got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th match minute, Corte FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laércio Ramos to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Waldemar Nunes during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Lança Negra's Waldemar Nunes got a free kick in the 16th minute. Frank Cunha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruninho Travassos's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. When Lança Negra's Rômulo Quadros in 21 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Guga Donatello guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. 25 minutes into the game, Breno Faria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After 47 minutes of play, Corte FC's Bruninho Travassos made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frank Cunha was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bruninho Travassos was the one to do the kick off. Laércio Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Cunha having to interfere. In the 55th minute Rômulo Quadros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guga Donatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breno Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Luiz Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Cunha having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Corte FC's Laércio Ramos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frank Cunha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Lança Negra's Frank Cunha got control of the ball when Laércio Ramos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Corte FC's Guga Donatello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rômulo Quadros in the 88th minute of play. After having played for 91 minutes, Laércio Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corte FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laércio Ramos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruninho Travassos in the 97th minute of play. Corte FC's Pedro Luiz Braga pulled a muscle in his leg after 97 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The supporters of Corte FC booed when Lança Negra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gino Cosme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Although Lança Negra had been in control for most of the match, Corte FC still came away with the win.
