A collision led to Pindamonhangabense EC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Hugo Mendes hit a great ball. After 14 played minutes, Pindamonhangabense EC's Duda Cardozo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Guga Macedo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pindamonhangabense EC reached it. Franklin do Vale was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sílvio Luiz Brito showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Pires in the 26th minute of play forced Pindamonhangabense EC's goalkeeper Franklin do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vargem's Guga Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Cavalcante in the 28th minute of play. Guga Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseu Valadares in the 30th minute of play. When João Pedro Melo fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vargem's protests and gave João Pedro Melo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st minute, João Pedro Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute of the match Duda Cardozo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guga Macedo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Zé Branco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Franklin do Vale having to make a save. Franklin do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gualter Aguiar in the 42nd minute of the match. Sérgio Velasco kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sílvio Luiz Brito to strike the kick off in the second half. Claudinho Cavalcante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualter Aguiar in the 56th minute of play forced Pindamonhangabense EC's goalkeeper Franklin do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliseu Valadares hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. João Pedro Melo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Franklin do Vale. Pindamonhangabense EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Guga Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Maria da Costa in the 62nd minute of the match. Sílvio Luiz Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin do Vale having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualter Aguiar in the 65th minute of play forced Pindamonhangabense EC's goalkeeper Franklin do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adilson Munhoz scored 2-0 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franklin do Vale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Eliseu Valadares's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Guga Macedo firmly grabbed it by the left post. Franklin do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adilson Munhoz in the 79th minute of play. The Vargem fans' excitement grew in the 82nd match minute when Vargem's Sílvio Luiz Brito looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 86 minutes, Sílvio Luiz Brito made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Pindamonhangabense EC's Franklin do Vale tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Vargem booed when Pindamonhangabense EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseu Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rdth minute of the game Sílvio Luiz Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pindamonhangabense EC's Franklin do Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Pindamonhangabense EC defense, Zé Branco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Franklin do Vale. The Pindamonhangabense EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Franklin do Vale should have stopped the shot. There was no doubt that Vargem were the better team. Vargem's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
