After having played for 9 minutes, Sílvio Luiz Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vargem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Luiz Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adilson Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Zanette having to interfere. If Gualter Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Vargem booed when EC Zamboni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafa Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute Adilson Munhoz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Zanette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adilson Munhoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 27 minutes of play, Vargem's Sílvio Luiz Brito made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. EC Zamboni's Cláudio Zanette played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualter Aguiar in the 41st minute of play. Sílvio Luiz Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Cláudio Zanette tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Claudinho Jacinto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guga Macedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The EC Zamboni players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vargem were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reynaldo Gomes to make the kick off. Guga Macedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reynaldo Gomes's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. With a little luck, EC Zamboni's Cláudio Zanette got control of the ball when Adilson Munhoz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sílvio Luiz Brito's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Cláudio Zanette skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 61 played minutes Vargem got a freekick which was hit by Gualter Aguiar. Guga Macedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Cláudio Zanette tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute of the match João Pedro Melo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cláudio Zanette skillfully saved the ball. Reynaldo Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Pedro Passos hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Vargem's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
