Spectators: 6766 (Terracing: 5466, Seating: 1250, VIP seats: 50) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Sílvio Luiz Brito got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd match minute, Vargem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adilson Munhoz to maneuver through the defense. Sílvio Luiz Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Cunha having to interfere. Rômulo Quadros struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Guga Macedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lança Negra. Frank Cunha was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Bruno Barros. In the 19th minute, Zé Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guga Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rômulo Quadros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Vargem's Adilson Munhoz got a free kick in the 20th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rômulo Quadros in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guga Macedo saved Vargem from getting behind. When Mateus Carioca came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Lança Negra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mateus Carioca couldn't finish the play. In the 38th match minute, Lança Negra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gino Cosme to maneuver through the defense. Frank Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Luiz Brito in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Bruno Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Sílvio Luiz Brito kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Frank Cunha. That made the score 1-0 in the 44 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rômulo Quadros was the one to do the kick off. Frank Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gualter Aguiar in the 53rd minute of the match. Lança Negra's Waldemar Nunes got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 59 in the game by Rômulo Quadros from a close distance when the talented Guga Macedo managed to make a qualified save. Vargem's players were relieved. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Lança Negra's goalkeeper Frank Cunha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Adilson Munhoz kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Rômulo Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guga Macedo having to interfere. Frank Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gualter Aguiar in the 73rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Velasco in the 74th minute of play forced Lança Negra's goalkeeper Frank Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 79 minutes of play, Vargem's Sílvio Luiz Brito made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frank Cunha was left in no man's land by his defense there! Adilson Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Cunha having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Sílvio Luiz Brito cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Frank Cunha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Vargem fully deserved thier win.
