In the 7thth minute of the game Roberto Munhoz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but EC Zamboni's Cláudio Zanette was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reynaldo Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Dedé Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reynaldo Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Citizens Blues F.C's Dedé Fontes got control of the ball when José das Neves tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Citizens Blues F.C's zone, Reynaldo Gomes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dedé Fontes came out of the goal and Reynaldo Gomes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reynaldo Gomes made a kick off. Victor das Neves's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Cláudio Zanette skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If José das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When EC Zamboni's José das Neves in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Citizens Blues F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EC Zamboni the free kick. The supporters of EC Zamboni booed when Citizens Blues F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celsinho Diniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victor das Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Cláudio Zanette made a huge save. Victor das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Zanette having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Gomes in the 78th minute of play forced Citizens Blues F.C's goalkeeper Dedé Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Roberto Munhoz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cláudio Zanette was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. In the 86th minute José das Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dedé Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute, José das Neves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EC Zamboni fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Dedé Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Gomes in the 95th minute of play. When Gustavo de Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Citizens Blues F.C's protests and gave Gustavo de Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th match minute, Citizens Blues F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo de Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. Dedé Fontes came out of the goal in the 99th minute to try and stop a shot by EC Zamboni's Reynaldo Gomes. But to his dismay, Reynaldo Gomes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. EC Zamboni had won after a very even match.
