Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Júlio Ribeiro started the match with the kick off. Anselmo Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastião de Medeiros in the 12th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Franklin Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rangers fc's Breno Couto got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24thth minute of the game Sebastião de Medeiros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fanfa FC's Anselmo Linhares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Anselmo Linhares came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Rangers fc's Sebastião de Medeiros. But to his dismay, Sebastião de Medeiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. A hard shot 37 in the game by Célio Cavalcante from a close distance when the talented Jano Quirino managed to make a qualified save. Rangers fc's players were relieved. Jano Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Branco in the 39th minute of play. After 41 played minutes Rangers fc got a freekick which was hit by Franklin Monteiro. In the 43rd of the match, Júlio Ribeiro tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Jano Quirino got in the way and made a wonderful save. A hard shot by Cristóvão Porto from long distance, 45 minutes into the match, got Jano Quirino's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 46th minute, César Branco had to leave the field with a concussion. 46 minutes into the game, Rafa Neto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rangers fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fanfa FC the free kick. In the 47th match minute, Rangers fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Neto to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Sebastião de Medeiros made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Fanfa FC's goalkeeper Anselmo Linhares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Breno Couto. José Pedro Negri hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Célio Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rangers fc's goalkeeper Jano Quirino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Célio Cavalcante might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jano Quirino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Célio Cavalcante ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 83rd minute, Nuno Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Célio Cavalcante notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Rangers fc's Jano Quirino. Jano Quirino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Breno Couto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Linhares having to interfere. Célio Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Célio Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geovânio Mazza struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Jano Quirino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fanfa FC. The Rangers fc supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rangers fc would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
