Pedro Augusto de Azevedo hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, DRAGÕES FUTEBOL CLUBE's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Augusto de Azevedo came free, but Humberto Salles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Renan Valadares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Ducks's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Fernando Peixoto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half DRAGÕES FUTEBOL CLUBE were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 80 minutes of play, The Ducks's Flavinho Viana made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Humberto Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Augusto de Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind DRAGÕES FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Humberto Salles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Augusto de Azevedo in the 88th minute of play forced DRAGÕES FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Humberto Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
