Wágner Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Carioca having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Pedro Paulo Mendonça got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Jamanacari FC's zone, Afonso de Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Carioca came out of the goal and Afonso de Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Adalberto Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Samuca Penha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute, Metropolitano's Leandro Arruda dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacinto Bastos in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oscar Paraibano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 35 played minutes Metropolitano got a freekick which was hit by Adelino de Godoi. Adalberto Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Leandro Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Jamanacari FC's goalkeeper Claudinei Carioca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wágner Braga. Adalberto Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Oscar Paraibano made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Adalberto Salles sent off a good shot on target. Many of Jamanacari FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Jamanacari FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Metropolitano were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
