Samuel Quadros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celsinho Lopes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Marco Vasconcelos might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicolas Netto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Vasconcelos ran back to his position shaking his head. When Senhor da Erva's Marco Vasconcelos in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ROMAnguaça FC's goalie prevented a goal. Didi Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Senhor da Erva's Celsinho Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Quadros in the 27th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Senhor da Erva's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Quadros came free, but Celsinho Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of ROMAnguaça FC booed when Senhor da Erva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Baiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celsinho Lopes came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by ROMAnguaça FC's Nando Linares. But to his dismay, Nando Linares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samuel Quadros made a kick off. The supporters of ROMAnguaça FC booed when Senhor da Erva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giuseppe Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 55 played minutes, ROMAnguaça FC's Vânderson de Almeida shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Celsinho Lopes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ROMAnguaça FC reached it. Percy Diniz hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Deivid Mello might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Celsinho Lopes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Deivid Mello ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 60th match minute, Senhor da Erva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Recife to maneuver through the defense. After 62 played minutes Senhor da Erva got a freekick which was hit by Giuseppe Recife. Senhor da Erva's Giuseppe Recife got his second yellow card of the match in the 66th minute. The referee ordered Giuseppe Recife off the ground. In the 67th minute, Giuseppe Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 70 played minutes ROMAnguaça FC got a freekick which was hit by Nando Linares. 71 minutes into the game, Jean Sousa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Senhor da Erva's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ROMAnguaça FC the free kick. The supporters of ROMAnguaça FC booed when Senhor da Erva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deivid Mello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Celsinho Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celsinho Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Quadros in the 76th minute of the match. Celsinho Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Deivid Mello came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the ROMAnguaça FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deivid Mello couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuel Quadros in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celsinho Lopes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Didi Baiano fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Senhor da Erva's protests and gave Didi Baiano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 86th minute of the match Iuri Pena shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celsinho Lopes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 88th minute, Deivid Mello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 94thth minute of the game Yuri Meirelles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Senhor da Erva's Celsinho Lopes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. ROMAnguaça FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
