After a defensive mix-up in Senhor da Erva's zone, Aírton Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celsinho Lopes came out of the goal and Aírton Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Percy Diniz during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Senhor da Erva's Percy Diniz got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 5th minute Tiago de Queiroz suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Giuseppe Recife charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Giuseppe Recife the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th match minute, Senhor da Erva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Recife to maneuver through the defense. If Aírton Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aírton Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edson Almeida struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Celsinho Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Astroworld. In the 13th minute Aírton Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celsinho Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Percy Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Marcinho Moraes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marco Vasconcelos in the 17th minute. Astroworld's Ivo Hoffmann got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 23 played minutes, Astroworld's Alfredo Albuquerque shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Celsinho Lopes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Astroworld reached it. Aírton Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Lopes having to interfere. Edson Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celsinho Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aírton Silveira in the 38th minute of play. After having played for 45 minutes, Aírton Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Astroworld's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aírton Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Aírton Silveira made the kick off in the second half. Edson Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Celsinho Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Senhor da Erva getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Didi Baiano hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aírton Silveira got free with Celsinho Lopes in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Senhor da Erva's Celsinho Lopes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Senhor da Erva from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Aírton Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Astroworld's supporters rose to their feet, but Aírton Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celsinho Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aírton Silveira struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Celsinho Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Astroworld. Aírton Silveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Celsinho Lopes made a huge save. After having played for 89 minutes, Aírton Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Astroworld's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aírton Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Astroworld played a much better game than Senhor da Erva and deserved their victory. The Senhor da Erva players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
