Rafinha Oliveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrinho Lima in the 19th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Almir Secco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vila Verde F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olímpico Manaus F.C. the free kick. Almir Secco hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Vila Verde F.C's Rafinha Oliveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertinho Furtado in the 23rd minute of play. When Almir Secco was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 23 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Vila Verde F.C's Almir Secco got a free kick in the 24th minute. When Olímpico Manaus F.C.'s Albertinho Furtado in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. One of Vila Verde F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Olímpico Manaus F.C.:s goal. The referee gave Olímpico Manaus F.C. a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alfredão Fonseca, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vila Verde F.C's Rafinha Oliveira. 0-2. Olímpico Manaus F.C.'s Albertinho Furtado got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Perivaldo Passos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eduardo Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Custódio in the 52nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedrinho Lima in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafinha Oliveira saved Vila Verde F.C from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Vila Verde F.C's Faustão Correia got a free kick in the 55th minute. 58 minutes into the game, Pedrinho Lima recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rafinha Oliveira. Pedrinho Lima showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Albertinho Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Rafinha Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Albertinho Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albertinho Furtado struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Rafinha Oliveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olímpico Manaus F.C.. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedrinho Lima in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafinha Oliveira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Olímpico Manaus F.C. getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Jeferson Custódio hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Vila Verde F.C's Gernando Custódio got a free kick in the 84th minute. Albertinho Furtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafinha Oliveira having to interfere. Rafinha Oliveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Albertinho Furtado in the 92nd minute. Gernando Custódio hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. When the match was over Olímpico Manaus F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vila Verde F.C throughout the match.
