In the 17thth minute of the game Eugênio Velasco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Quatinga FC's Rafa Baiano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Eugênio Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Macaé esporte clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugênio Velasco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After a rather tough play, Macaé esporte clube's Serginho Cabral got a free kick in the 95th minute. 96 minutes into the match, Macaé esporte clube's goal looked a bit too open when José Augusto Pinho came free, but Valdo Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Macaé esporte clube played a much better game than Quatinga FC and deserved their victory. The Quatinga FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
