After some careless play in the Quatinga FC defense, Ramiro Medeiros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafa Baiano. The Quatinga FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafa Baiano should have stopped the shot. Oséas Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Rafa Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oséas Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafa Baiano having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Quatinga FC's Waldir Castro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Thomás Meira hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. A collision led to Marins SC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Jorge Torres hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Quatinga FC's Váldson Mazza tried to score from far away in the 35th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Quatinga FC's Váldson Mazza got a free kick in the 40th minute. Oséas Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Rafa Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Franklin Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Augusto Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Rafa Baiano managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when Marins SC's Ramiro Medeiros fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Marins SC booed when Quatinga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Almir Soeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça in the 71st minute really tested Rafa Baiano's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quatinga FC's goalkeeper Rafa Baiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 86 minutes, José Augusto Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quatinga FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Augusto Pinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Oséas Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
