The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Belford FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. In the 17th minute, Sebastião Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ramón Custódio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adhemar Corrêa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Matias, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Fellipe Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Emerson Albuquerque tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 33 played minutes Belford FC got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Custódio. In the 35th minute, Lucas Matias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 46 minutes into the game, Lucas Matias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Adhemar Corrêa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Belford FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. São Paulo FC were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Fellipe Lopez made the kick off in the second half. Adhemar Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Matias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 55 minutes, Douglas Pombal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the São Paulo FC and the Belford FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 55 played minutes São Paulo FC got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Pombal. After 58 played minutes Belford FC got a freekick which was hit by Gláuber Maciel. Adhemar Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Matias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Belford FC's Adhemar Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Matias in the 62nd minute of play. Baltazar de Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucas Matias in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adhemar Corrêa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 75th minute Lucas Matias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adhemar Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evandro Veiga hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Lucas Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adhemar Corrêa having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Lucas Matias fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The Belford FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. São Paulo FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
